I’ve Gone Spelunking (and returned with tools for startups!)

Creepy, huh? I'm sure I can see a spider.

I’ve spent the last few days spelunking.

Others may call it doing a deep dive into my Google analytics. But common—that doesn’t sound nearly as cool as spelunking. Face it, you were waaay more interested in learning whether I had gotten stuck in a cave and had to gnaw my own arm off, than you are about how many clicks my Home page gets, right?

Well, fear not. I’m not going to share the gruesomely boring details with you. Other than to say that the numbers (and a few pushy readers) tell a very clear story.

You, valued reader, are looking for solutions to use on a daily basis to make the job of working in a startup easier.

I get it. I’ve been there. I know what you’re going through.

And, I can help.

How? Glad you asked.

work for a startup and you'll keep running

Working for a startup means wearing sensible (and colorful?) shoes.

It comes down to this: I’ve been in your shoes, and I know how fast you need to run in them. You don’t have time to reinvent the wheel, even if the product you’re launching happens to be new wheels!

You may be a finance person who’s been asked to work on product labeling. Or you might be a sales person who’s been asked to write a marketing plan. Whether you’re just out of college, or just asked to perform a task out of your area of expertise, you need user-friendly, startup savvy tools at your fingertips.

I got ya covered.

Behold the Glory of Freebies

I’m revamping the Resources section of the Working for Wonka blog, and filling it chock full o’ the good stuff you need to get your job done.

Resources including free turn-key templates, video tutorials and PDFs all written from the perspective of someone who has worked in a startup, knows what you need to know, and knows what you don’t need to waste your time on. Cause you don’t have time to waste!

There will also be a few products you can purchase for those times you need a little extra help.

There are a few tools already uploaded, and a list of some of the tools that are coming in the next few weeks. Go check it out!

In the meantime, if you want to get updated whenever a new tool is uploaded, get on the Done by Lunch email list. You’ll find out first!

I’m really excited to help you get the job done, and stay sane at the same time. It’s gonna be great.

Working for Wonka: Want to add something to list of resources? Just give me a shout. But yell loudly, cause I’m in this cave….or use the contact form. Yeah, better use the form.

    I LOVE it.

and I am not kidding this time.

The whole thing has a different energy. Can’t wait to see what you are going to do. Seems like your focus has shifted.

Is it that you are going to concentrate more on being an entrepreneur rather than working for one?

    Excited.

      Hey Corinne:

Glad you’re excited. I’ll still be writing for those of us who are working for entrepreneurs, but really, the resources and tools could just as easily be used by the entrepreneurs.

Like the business plan stuff; I’m writing for someone who has been asked to write the plan by their entrepreneur boss. In the eBook there’s a 10 point questionaire for the employee to use with their boss before they get started. The goal is to make sure the employee understands exactly how and why the plan is being written. (This is critical before you start!) But the entrepreneur could use it as their own checklist.

Which means you, my little entrepreneur, could use them too! I hope you find some useful stuff!

Thanks for sharing Kathy. The Resources link seems interesting. 🙂

      Thanks for the encouragement Kamil.

Hope you found some useful information in the resource section. As I said, the section will continue to grow as I fill it as quickly as I can with free tools. There is a list of partial templates and tutorials listed in the different sectios now, but even that will grow. Hope you find it helpful. And let me know if you want to add something to the list.
